so, thinking about my electrocution the other day got me thinking about all the other almost-fatal accidents i've been involved in. here's a list!
1. electrocution by christmas lights
2. lighting the bulletin on fire at church soph. year of college (yes, i mean ON FIRE!)
3. putting metal in the microwave not knowing it would explode (it just lit on fire). . . again with the fire!
4. running into oncoming traffic on multiple occasions
the list goes on and on. that's all the time i have now, though.

general musings
good evening!
since procrastination seems to be an art form this evening, i thought i would blog about my day. nothing too special, but for anybody who just can't get enough of me, this should satisfy your craving for laughter!
okay, funny story. . .
i electrocuted myself today!!! (blonde much?) anyways, i put up a bunch of christmas lights around our door and one of the lights broke. so, in my ingeniousness, i decided to try to fix the broken light with the lights still on. okay, so the feeling of electricity rushing through your body is so bizarre!! it kinda hurts a little, but the tattoo kinda hurt, not the being shot by a gun hurt. does that make sense? anyways, it didn't actually register that i had been shocked until i realized my heart was beating a million times a minute and i was short of breath. crazy!
yeah, i'm a genius. learn from my mistake, kids. . . don't touch broken lights when they're still on!

here goes...
i thought that this break would be a bit more relaxing than it's been. . . i mean, sans drama.
not the case.
you know when you feel like things are going great in your life & then God says, "not so fast, kels! i still have some interesting plans for you!" WHAM! spiritual 2x4! yeah, that's what this break has been thus far.
okay, story. . . i was content with keeping "someone" distant in my life. coming back to the AZ was supposed to be free of this person. not the case. . . at all. actually, with the help of some people, i managed to put myself in the direct path of said person. he's been having a hard time lately & i know i should be there for him, but i don't want to! i've been hurt too much by this certain someone & i don't want to even slightly open myself up to him again. but, i feel like God may be calling me to forgive & move on. 3 years. wow, it's been 3 years! i need to move on!! i need to look him straight in the eye & not only be completely self confident in my un-attachment from him but to genuinely want to help him in this crappy time of pain for him. why does this have to be so complicated! end of story.
on a slightly happier note, i got most of my christmas shopping done today! oh, how i adore the gift-giving season! anyways, today was actually a full day. i spent countless hours at the mall (wait, am i in the movie "clueless" now or what?!), baked some brownies, ran over to church to borrow some ministry stuff & talk to the new vicar (nice guy!), did some laundry, & finished some homework. okay, i lied on that last one. i'm a professional procrastinator, what can i say?!
tomorrow's agenda: NOTHING! sleeping in & a date w/ my couch & remote. very exciting for a college student. oh, the prospects of having a completely open schedule. the day is wide open for adventure or laziness. whichever comes first, i guess! actually, going on a hike tomorrow sounds really good, especially since the weather's been so nice. we'll see. . . that might be added to the day's events!
that's it. i'm tired & it's 1am. . . doing nothing sure is exhausting! ;)
blessings to all!

p.s. i'll keep ya'll posted as to what special adventures God has for me the rest of the week!

Thanksgiving Break
I'm so bad at this blog thing, I never write anything anymore! My truest apologies, my fans. I am deeply sorry for not keeping in touch.
Well, Alyssa and I drove out yesterday to come home for the break. Long drive, but I am so glad I'm here! It's only the first day, but it's been amazing! I get to sleep in and do whatever I want. It's amazing! So far today, Mom, Alyssa and I went garage sale hopping and I got an incredible TV stand for only $40! Alyssa also got a really great desk for only $18. I absolutely love garage sales! We got back and this afternoon, I'm planning on dragging Mom out to do some more shopping. Yay, can't wait!
Thanksgiving is going to be really nice this year. Very low key and casual, with only the five of us (Alyssa's fiance', Chris is the 5th). My Nana and Bapa might come out this week from Nebraska, but we're not counting on it. They kind of march to the beat of their own timing.
I guess that's pretty much it. This week's going to be wonderful since I don't really have anything to do! No homework, no meetings, nothing! It's great! Now that I'm here, I realize how much I want to go back to CUI and get the fall semester over with. Wow, I can't believe I'm almost done. Time sure does fly.
Short but sweet. Blessings!
